REMOTE START 101
Here at Oklahoma Customs we use Compustar/Idatalink remote starter systems that are award-winning and designed by industry experts. Our systems are created to be fully customizable depending on your vehicle and personal needs.
How Do Remote Starters Work?
Remote start systems simulate the same engine starting sequence as your car key, but without the physical key in the ignition. This is made possible with a Compustar remote start control module and long-range RF remote or Oem remote.
When you tap a button, such as "remote start" or "lock", on your Compustar long-range RF remote, it sends that command to the control module inside of your vehicle. This control module then speaks with your vehicle's internal computer to control your vehicle's components, including the engine.
Will Compustar work for my vehicle?
Yes! Compustar remote car starters are compatible with over 90% of vehicles on the road, including manual-transmissions, diesels, select hybrids, and luxury makes. Create your custom system today with our Compustar System Builder!
What is 2-Way Remote Start and Dronemobile?
Compustar 2-way remote starters provide visual and audible confirmation for successful commands, leaving no doubt that your car will be warmed up and ready to go when you are. If your Compustar system has security monitoring enabled, make sure you have a Compustar remote that supports 2-way alarm alerts. Drone mobile is a is smartphone app that allows you to start, unlock, lock and even GPS track your vehicle long as you have cell service.
Do I Need to Give Up a Key?
In short, no! Most Compustar remote starters are now installed with a bypass module that allows you to maintain your factory security features along with the wonderful controls provided by our systems. Compustar systems are compatible with iDatalink bypass modules. There are some that require to lose a key to make the remote start function. Which is perfectly safe and will not start the car otherwise.
